A thriller would be made up of fast pacing, rapid action and a constant sense of suspense. Thrillers can typically take place in exotic settings such as the desert, polar regions, or the high seas. Heros in most portrayed in thrillers as hard men ready and attracted to danger.

Thrillers are usually overlapping with other genres and mystery stories but are distinguished by the structure of the plot.
AS Coursework The Brief
- The titles and opening of a new fiction film in the thriller genre to last a maximum of two minutes.
- The coursework is worth 50% of the course and the production is worth 60% of marks in itself.
-The coursework also comprises a written component on a blog, this is worth 40% of the marks.
Marks are rewarded for the following:
-Planning and research with 20 marks.
- Construction worth 60 marks.
- Evaluation worth 20 marks.
